 Hey.. How are you doing? I hope everything is going well. This summer I take an advantage and I started to teach my son Nico how to read in English. I use the same resources and methodology as I do every year at school. I use Jolly phonics, Alphablocks, Bounce patrol phonic songs, my magic alphabet book and some Usborne fantastic phonic books. Do you know them? These books are so funny with plenty of stickers and games that help them recognize the sound and the name of the letters.

This blog started one year ago when everything started to tumble. In that time, we didn't know how far this could be and here we are... I remember that I have had everything prepared to work on Saint Patrick's but we couldn't celebrated it so that was the beginning of this. I would like to keep working on it. It is true that now I don't have the same time because I have lot of work but I promise that I am going to keep uploading interesting things and activities for you all. Please feel free to send me your messages I will be so glad to read them. I still having contact with some of my students from last year. As Chesterson once said: Without no rain there would be no rainbow!  Let's connect it with leprechauns' legend.. Are you ready to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow??  Saint Patrick's is coming!! 🍀☘️

 Today is the day and I have to say that I enjoyed it too much! In my school we have chosen the theme fairy tales and movies for children. Here you can see me! Can you find me in the big picture with all the teachers?  

 Hey friends! I'm back. I am so excited because tomorrow we will start our carnival week. Each day we will follow the instructions that Mr. Carnal will tell us.. This is a great tradition in which all of our students get involved in this activity and the school turns into a colorful and funny place. In these weird days in which we cannot do all that we want because of coronavirus it is very important to keep enjoying all these magic moments.  On Monday we have to put something special on our heads.. I will upload tomorrow a photo of myself hehehe.  A little appetizer with this photo of my class door.. 

Hey friends! This time I am going to show you the way we teach children how to start learning how to read in English. As you will see, first we teach the sounds of the letters by using some gestures and then we blend the sounds of each letter until reading a whole word. The same way as you can see in the video. I hope you enjoy it!

 Hey friends! How is everything going? What about the online classes again?? I am working really hard having different video calls everyday and doing many different things at the same time. It reminds me the period of lockdown with you guys.  Today I sent to my little students, 1st graders, this video about a funny storybook called Shark in the park. Let me know if you like it or not.

  Hey friends! I have been enjoying my holidays with my relatives that is why I did not upload any content on these days. Today is a really special day in Madrid, we have never seen this before. Madrid is covered by a huge lay of snow. We can see people skying in la Puerta de Alcalá, ducks walking in the frozen lake of Casa Campo, kids making snowmen everywhere and of course.. My Littles having lots of fun with their sleigh. How was your experience? I also really enjoy myself playing in the snow! 

 Hey friends! How are your Christmas preparations being? We are almost ready for holidays. Here I share with you a great activity that my Littles enjoyed a lot doing. I hope you like it! They are really good at drawing with just 6 years old!

 Hey friends! I suppose that you have already decorated your house with beautiful Christmas decorations. This year with my little students we made awesome ornaments using their photos. The idea is to give them to all my students at the end of this term as a gift.  We hang them in our special Christmas tree. Do you like it?? You only need paper and a pompom. That's me! 😉

Hey friends! Today is a very special day for our American friends. We hope you enjoy a great dinner gathering with your relatives. In my class, today all my little students finished the day with these cute turkey hats on their head. Do you like them?

Hey friends as I promised, here you can see our awesome project. My little students have made these beautiful thankful turkeys. First, they traced their hands and cut it out.  Second, they added the beak and the gooble.  Third, they colored the feathers and stuck them in each finger.  Finally, they wrote all the things they are thankful for.  If you like it you can try to make your own version and share it with us.  Hello again! This week is so important because in just two days people will celebrate Thanksgiving day. For that reason, in my school we are working on this theme the whole week by learning new vocabulary, describing all the things we are thankful for and making different crafts such as turkey hats, handy turkeys, turkey dancings.. among others. I will try to upload some photos the fantastic job my little students are doing. This year we are in 1st GRADE!  Probably this year is the most important one for being thankful for, because we have had enough time (mostly during lockdown) to realise how lucky we are just for being healthy!! Hey friends!  Are you ready for some fun?? I was preparing many Halloween crafts with my little artists Nico & Carmen. Most of them are made with recycled materials so just keep your toilet paper rolls and be creative. Here you have a few ideas! If you need more action, let's try to do some carving with a pumpkin.
